Tooth-Colored Fillings

The most common treatment for chipped, broken, cracked or fractured teeth is tooth-colored fillings. Also known as white fillings, this is exactly what the name says, they fill the gaps and fix the appearance of your tooth to restore it’s shape, color or size.

This treatment is also recommended when wanting to close gaps between teeth, reshaping teeth to make them look more straight and even and also to give your smile a better look. The reason why it is the most commonly used treatment is because it closely matches your natural teeth’s color to that of the filling.

Other fillings made out of metals are not good for your health in the long run as the body absorbs these materials and they don’t bond to the tooth as good as resin, which allows bacteria to buildup between the filling and tooth. Composite resin fillings are therefore not only better for your health but they will blend nicely with the rest of your teeth. You can have them in the front or back of your mouth people won’t even notice them.

Like any other procedure, we recommend you take good care of your fillings and avoid prolonged exposure to dark liquids that might stain them. If taken care of properly, they will last a long time.
